Our EMBA – Healthcare Leadership is shaped by our students who bring real-world experience to the classroom and arrive ready to discuss and address the challenges they face on a day-to-day basis in the healthcare environment. To maintain a supportive learning environment and allow for close faculty connections, our program consists of a maximum of 30 students from across the industry and around the world. No, our Executive MBA – Healthcare Leadership program attracts students from across the country and around the world. This provides a rich learning environment when you hear colleagues voice their unique organizational challenges and regional influences. The internationally based cohort provides students with a comprehensive picture of the current state of healthcare in the United States and around the world.
The Executive MBA – Healthcare Leadership program employs a mix of in-person and online activities designed for working healthcare professionals. There are four residence periods that include three sessions on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus and one healthcare policy immersion trip to Washington, D.C. Students participate in online distance learning sessions for two hours approximately 2 to 3 times a month, scheduled during evening hours.

The Executive MBA – Healthcare Leadership program does not have concentrations; however, you have the ability to individually customize your experience through the Organizational Action Project by choosing an area of interest upon which to focus your project. You will also have the opportunity to customize the leadership development component of the program to adapt to and address your particular needs and career goals.
